World Population Day - “Empowering young people to create the families they want in a fair and hopeful world” at Dr. B.S. Kushwah Institute of Medical Sciences Date: 11th July 2025 On the occasion of World Population Day 2025, a special awareness event was organized at Dr. B.S. Kushwah Institute of Medical Sciences, aiming to spread social consciousness regarding the challenges of overpopulation and the importance of reproductive health. Also the theme encourages removing economic, social, and health barriers so that youth can freely decide if, when, and how to start a family It highlights that with more than 1.8 billion young people globally, we need policies like inclusive education, reproductive rights, affordable childcare, secure jobs, and gender equality to support their choices . Street Play Presentation A nukkad natak (street play) was presented by our dynamic MBBS 1st-year students (Batch 2024-25) focusing on key aspects of population control. The play highlighted critical information about the safe use of contraceptive methods such as condoms (nirodh) and Copper-T, along with the importance of informed family planning. The street play successfully delivered a powerful message on the need for responsible reproductive choices to ensure a sustainable and healthy future. Objective The objective of the program was to emphasize the need for population control, reproductive awareness, and community engagement in building a healthier nation. The event resonated deeply with all attendees, encouraging meaningful conversations and responsible actions toward public health.
