The Department of Microbiology offers diagnostic services including Mycobacteriology, bacteriology, Mycology, Virology, Immunology, Serology, Parasitology.

The Microbiology field provides aspiring students with the foundation in the diagnosis and management of diseases. Highly advanced, the department helps in teaching and diagnosing most of the infectious diseases prevalent in the society. The department is also instrumental in carrying out bacteriological analysis of water, in-house disinfectant testing, theatre sterility checks and hospital environment surveillance.

Diagnostic services

As a part of Dr. B. S. Kushwah Institute of Medical Sciences philosophy, the department takes care of its patients in several areas including parasitological, bacteriological, serological (including viral serology) and mycological investigations. The central laboratory’s microbiology division is adequately equipped with all the facilities for handling critical investigations. There are separate internal, as well as external quality control programs to ensure the reliability of reports.
